Welcome aboard for the Great Western Divide, River Kern ride.

This will be a 2 night stay where we leave on Saturday, Oct 08 and returning on Monday, Oct 10. (Columbus Day Weekend)

This is an open ride.  Some folks may not ride to Three Rivers with us but meet us there.  I would appreciate a head count regardless so please Email me at cobra@vtwinthunder.com

We will be leaving from the Chevron station at Hwy 15/138 (Silverwood exit) at 7:30 AM on Oct 8 and returning on Oct 10.  It is an all day (6 – 7 hour seat time) ride as we will be riding around Lake Isabella using North 15, North 395, Caliente Bodfish, RiverKern, Sequoia Ntl Forest route.

The Sunday Route is below which will take us through Hwy 245, Kings Canyon, Sequoia Ntl Forest, back to Three Rivers.

This route takes us on some very dynamic roads.

There is a little restaurant called Sisters Mountain House that we will have Brunch at on our Sunday ride.  I suggest you do take advantage because there is very little food for the remainder of the route.  We will be leaving the hotel, gassed up at around 8 and likely be there around 10 AM.

There is a small Christian Camp called Hume Lake that does have gas and a small store.  They do have cafeteria style menu at specific times of the day.  We may or may not be there during their cafeteria hours though.

If the group does get split up on this ride, I will discuss check points to meet at.  Our primary goal is to enjoy ourselves, AND to be SAFE.  Keep communications open so that we have a clear idea where everyone is at.  If folks stay on this route, regardless of riding speeds, there should be no problems.  There aren’t too many other options once we get into the mountains so the route is relatively firm.
